FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - GOOD NEWS! Water Allocation Update - July 24, 2025

Due to some new information from the Kings River Water Association, we have some good news! Laguna Irrigation District is updating the Water Allocation from 0.70-acre feet per acre to 0.85-acre feet per acre. There are two primary reasons for this approximately 20 percent increase in the allocation.

1.      First, we have more water available due to increased delivery percentage of our water in the Kings River. In other words, the river is seeping less water than originally expected, leaving more for the District to deliver to its landowners.

 2.      Second is the release of 100% of the District’s TCP Water for irrigation purposes. TCP Water (Temperature Control Pool Water) is water normally reserved in Pine Flat Reservoir for the Kings River Fishery Program.

The current water run will tentatively end somewhere between August 8th and the 13th. This is not definite as daily usage varies.

Your Ditchtender or Office Staff can provide the updated information upon request.

Thank You,
